Flipping is buying an item at one price and selling it for a higher price. Sounds simple enough, right? It’s different from investing or merchanting in that the process takes 10 minutes daily, whereas investing can take days, weeks, or even months.
So buy low, sell high, got it. Let’s see how it works. First, you need to pick an item to flip. I always do items that are traded often, things needed to train skills like raw fish, ores, bars, feathers, logs, etc. So, pick your first item; we’ll use feathers. Feathers currently go for 16 gold in the GE, but we’re not starting there. Buy 1 feather, click the +5% button 5 times, and click buy. You’ll buy it instantly and make a note of the price. This will be your sell price later. Mine was 17 gold. Now, sell that one feather. This time, click the -5% button 5 times. It will sell instantly, so note the price. This will be your buy price. Mine was 15 gold.
Now you’re saying, “I just lost 2 gold. I thought we were supposed to make money!!!” Here’s how we do it. You can buy 10,000 feathers every four hours in the GE, so let’s buy 10,000 now. Remember our buy price above, 15 gold. The feathers will be purchased in a few minutes. Now, sell those 10,000 feathers for our sell price, 17 gold.
“Wait, so 2 gold for each feather, that’s not very much. I wanted millions!” Well, 10,000 feathers at 2 gold profit each is 20,000 gold. And it only took you a few minutes. You can do this method as often as you like. You can only buy a certain number of items every 4 hours, so switch things up. Buy oaks or logs, raw swordfish (my favorite), or ores (adamant works great). Just keep the tips in mind.
Look up the limits in the GE so you know how many you can buy. Sell Price = Buy one item by clicking +5% 5 times. Buy Price = Sell one item by clicking -5% 5 times.
